New Social Science Methods Library

Library under fluorescent lights

Professor Graham Crow, who retired last year, has been a key figure leading Social Science methodological research and teaching both in Edinburgh and also further afield. He has served as Director of the Scottish Graduate School of Social Science and the National Centre for Research Methods and last year was awarded the British Sociological Association Distinguished Service to British Sociology Award.

Learn more about Graham and his career in the following conversation with Professor Vernon Gayle.

The development of the Research Training Centre and our teaching and research activities certainly owes a great deal to Graham’s contributions and we were delighted that he could launch our Talking Methods seminar series back in 2021.

Watch Graham’s seminar on mixed methods research.

Graham has very kindly donated a fantastic selection of methods books and papers to the Research Training Centre to form a social science methods library. The resources will be available to University of Edinburgh postgraduate research students and staff on a loan basis. For further details on how to access the library and borrow books, contact
