Advanced Methods Workshops *NEW*
The Advanced Methods Workshops course is a new and exciting credit-bearing offer for postgraduate students. The course allows students to customise their learning experience by selecting from a range of advanced methods workshops across four specialist streams: quantitative, qualitative, social data science and mixed methods.
Micro-Methods Workshops
The Micro-Methods workshops offer introductory non-credit training in a broad range of social science research methods and software packages. They are delivered online as self-study modules and can be accessed by students and staff at any point during the academic year. Students who complete four workshops and submit a reflective assignment can gain the Edinburgh Social Science Methods Certificate.
Talking Methods Seminars
The Talking Methods seminars, delivered in association with the Scottish Graduate School of Social Science, are designed to spark debate, discussion and dialogue around research methods. These monthly online events are open to all so sign up, spread the word and join the conversation as we ‘talk methods’.
RTC Cohort *NEW*
This new and exciting student-led cohort brings together postgraduate research students to discuss, deliberate and explore research design and methodology. It draws on the rich and diverse knowledge and experience of the Research Training Centre team and provides peer support via both formal and informal channels. Join the first cohort meeting on Friday 8 October 2021 at 10:30am.
